Google je na GDC 2026 predstavio igre pogonjene Gemini modelom, ali industrija i dalje čeka 'must-have' slučaj upotrebe koji bi uvjerio igrače i developere. Brojke iz izvještaja GDC State of the Game Industry otkrivaju rascjep: 52% kompanija koristi generativnu ai, ali samo 36% developera je primjenjuje u svakodnevnom radu.

Većina se služi alatom za istraživanje (81%) i pisanje e-mailova (47%), a ne za stvaranje sadržaja — što je upravo ono što je industrijski hype obećavao. Nvidia je s DLSS 5 dodatno zagorčala situaciju, nudeći ai poboljšanja modela likova bez konzultacija s originalnim autorima.

Backlash je bio trenutak: igrači i developeri vidjeli su to kao narušavanje kreativnog integriteta, a ne kao tehnološki napredak. Chris Hays iz id Softwarea usporedio je ai s webom: 'Ako je stvarno revolucionarno, ljudi bi ga sami tražili.' Umjesto toga, industrijski skepticizam raste — 52% developera vjeruje da ai šteti industriji, što je porast od 22 boda u godini dana. Problem nije nedostatak tehnologije, već nedostatak problema koje ai rješava.

Sherveen Uduwana iz United Videogame Workers ističe da ai generirani sadržaj često zahtijeva toliko ljudskih ispravki da bi se mogao stvoriti i bez ai-a.

Hype oko generativne ai u igrama podsjeća na ranije tehnološke valove: blockchain, NFT, pa čak i cloud gaming. Svaki je obećavao revoluciju, ali rijetki su preživjeli susret s stvarnošću.

Razlika s ai-om je u tome što je tehnologija dovoljno zrela da se ugradi u alate, ali nedovoljno inteligentna da zamijeni ljudski rad. Izvještaj iz GDC-a pokazuje da developeri koriste ai za pomoćne zadatke, a ne za stvaranje jezgre igre — što je upravo ono što je Google demonstrirao s Geminijem. Pravi signal ovdje nije tehnologija, već tko kontrolira njezin razvoj.

Nvidia i Google guraju ai kao rješenje za sve, ali developeri i igrači vide drugu stranu medalje: gubitak kreativne kontrole, povećanu potrebu za nadzorom i neizvjesnost oko autorskih prava. Ako ai postane standard, tko će biti odgovoran za greške?

Tko će posjedovati generirani sadržaj? Pitanja ostaju otvorena, a industrija se pita je li cijena prihvatljiva.

Za sada, jedini siguran dobitnik su kompanije koje prodaju ai alate. Developeri plaćaju licencije, igrači dobivaju neprovjereni sadržaj, a hype se nastavlja.

Stvarna priča nije u tome što ai može, već u tome što industrija ne smije dopustiti da učini. Industrija mora biti svjesna potencijalnih rizika i ograničenja ai-a. Tek tako možemo očekivati da će se ai razvijati na način koji će biti koristan za sve.
