BRINCov Guardian izgleda kao ozbiljan alat za javnu sigurnost: Starlink povezivost, Narcan u nosivosti i brzina do 60 mph. Ars Technica ga opisuje kao dron za brze intervencije, ali robotika ne oprašta kad se demo pretvori u svakodnevni posao. Brzina na papiru ne znači puno ako baterija traje kratko, a teren i vremenski uvjeti nisu prijateljski.

Ovakav dron može imati smisla u ruralnim područjima, potragama i hitnoj medicini. Ali čim se pojavi pitanje certifikacije, ljudskog nadzora i sigurnog leta u gustim urbanim zonama, priča postaje složenija. U javnoj sigurnosti ne kupuje se specifikacija nego pouzdanost pod stresom.

Guardianov pravi test nije može li sustići vozilo nego može li to činiti dovoljno često i dovoljno sigurno. Starlink je koristan, ali ne rješava ograničenja nosivosti, dometa i održavanja. Ako dron mora biti stalno pod posebnim režimom, onda je to još uvijek alat za uske scenarije, a ne široko rješenje.

Zato je ovaj proizvod zanimljiv kao pokazatelj kamo ide policijska robotika, ali ne i kao dokaz da je put već proširen. Najteže će biti pokazati da sustav radi i kad više nema kamere, publike i lijepog PR-a. Tek tad ćemo znati je li Guardian doista čuvar ili samo vrlo brz naslov.
