Unitree Robotics objavio je open-source dataset za humanoidne robote i to je zanimljivo upravo zato što dolazi s realnih strojeva, a ne iz simulacije. To je važan pomak za istraživače koji žele učiti modele na stvarnim pokretima, kontaktima i senzorskim signalima. Video pokazuje da podaci dolaze iz stvarnog hardvera, a ne samo iz lijepog rendera.

Ali open-source dataset nije isto što i spreman proizvod. Da bi imao pravu vrijednost, mora pokriti različite uvjete: osvjetljenje, podloge, greške, ponavljanja i ono što se dogodi kada robot izgubi ravnotežu usred zadatka. Ako je skup podataka previše čist, onda služi više kao showcase nego kao baza za robustan razvoj.

Zato je glavno pitanje koliko će ovaj dataset pomoći da se humanoidi približe skladištu, a ne koliko je dobro izgledao na snimci. Unitree može ubrzati iteraciju ako podaci zaista nose dovoljno varijacija, ali industrija će i dalje tražiti dokaz da se naučeno može prenijeti na različite robote i različite scenarije.

Podaci su korisni tek kad prežive nered

Hardverska ograničenja i dalje upravljaju igrom. Baterija, toplina, nosivost i osjetljivost senzora ostaju problemi koje dataset ne može sam riješiti. Ako humanoid traje premalo ili zahtijeva previše nadzora, onda mu ni najbolji podaci ne mogu pomoći da postane stvarno koristan.

Skaliranje je također bolna točka. Podaci se mogu dijeliti brzo, ali prilagodba na različite platforme i radne uvjete i dalje košta vrijeme i novac. To znači da će najveću korist imati timovi koji već imaju robotsku infrastrukturu i znaju što žele izvesti na teren.

Ako ništa drugo, Unitree je pokazao da otvorenost može biti korisna kada uključuje stvarne robote, a ne samo promotivne renderinge. Ali do trenutka kada humanoid bude radio čitavu smjenu bez pažljivo pripremljene scene, još uvijek postoji dosta posla između datoteke i podnog betona.
