Neuralinkov čip prevodi neuronske signale u stvarne radnje u realnom vremenu, što je korak dalje od dosadašnjih rješenja koja su se fokusirala na osnovnu motoriku. Iako je iskustvo opisano kao „kao iz znanstvene fantastike“, TechRadar navodi da je riječ o direktnom iskazu pacijenta, bez treće strane za verifikaciju.

To otvara prostor za sumnju: je li ovo revolucionarna tehnologija ili pažljivo odabran primjer za medijsku prezentaciju? Igra Warcraft kao demonstracija nije slučajna.

Blizzardov MMORPG zahtijeva precizne i brze reakcije, što čini test izuzetno zahtjevnim za bilo koje BCI sučelje. No, ostaje nejasno kako točno čip omogućuje kontrolu – da li putem EEG-a, direktne neuronske stimulacije ili nekog drugog mehanizma. Neuralinkov blog ne nudi tehničke detalje, već se fokusira na korisničko iskustvo.

Za industriju BCI-a ovo je važan signal. Neuralink se razlikuje od konkurencije poput Synchrona ili Paradromicsa po brzini iteracija i fokusiranosti na potrošačko tržište.

Dok su drugi ciljali na medicinske primjene, Muskova tvrtka već sada testira mogućnosti u gaming industriji, što bi moglo ubrzati razvoj pristupačnijih uređaja. No, korisnička stvarnost još je daleko od marketinških prikaza.

Noble je jedan od prvih pacijenata, a 100-dnevno razdoblje prilagodbe sugerira da će prosječnom korisniku trebati mjeseci ili godine da ovlada tehnologijom. IEEE Spectrum ističe da su ranija BCI rješenja zahtijevala opsežnu kalibraciju i stručnu podršku, što ograničava njihovu dostupnost. Osim toga, pitanje cijene i dostupnosti ostaje otvoreno.

Neuralinkov cilj je vratiti neovisnost osobama s paralizom, ali ako tehnologija ostane skupa ili složena za korištenje, mogla bi završiti kao igračka za tech entuzijaste. Wired upozorava da bez jasne regulatorne putanje i smanjenja troškova, BCI uređaji riskiraju ostati u domeni eksperimentalne medicine.

U konačnici, uspješna implementacija Neuralinkove tehnologije ovisi o nizu faktora, uključujući regulatorne okvire, trošak i korisničku podršku. Ako se ove prepreke uspješno prevladaju, moguće je da ćemo svjedoci revolucije u načinu na koji ljudi komuniciraju s tehnologijom. Međutim, ako se tehnologija ne razvija na način koji je pristupačan i koristan za šire publikum, riskira završiti kao tek jedna od many tehnoloških čudesa koja nikada nisu dosegnula svoj potencijal.
