VDMA je objavio VDA 5050 v3 kao novi komunikacijski okvir za miješane flote mobilnih robota. Ideja je jednostavna: različiti proizvođači trebali bi govoriti istim jezikom kako bi logistički sustavi mogli koordinirati robote bez gomile posebnih integracija. Na papiru je to upravo ono što industriji treba.

Problem je što standard ne rješava fiziku. Baterije, nosivost, brzina, sigurnost i otpornost na mokre podove i dalje ostaju tu, bez obzira na to koliko elegantan protokol izgleda. Robot Report i VDMA mogu objasniti zašto je sve to važno, ali stvarni test je u tome smanjuje li standard trošak integracije ili samo dodaje još jednu razinu dokumentacije.

Zato je ova vijest više industrijska infrastruktura nego spektakl. Ako VDA 5050 uspije, robotima će biti lakše surađivati između proizvođača i flota. Ako ne uspije, ostat će još jedan dobar prijedlog koji je teško prevesti u operativnu praksu.

Standard je koristan tek kad ga svi koriste

Praktični problem je certifikacija. Čak i ako je komunikacija standardizirana, svaki robot i dalje mora zadovoljiti sigurnosne norme i proći vlastita testiranja. To znači da standard ne uklanja trošak, nego ga raspoređuje preko više slojeva implementacije.

Još veće pitanje je usvajanje. Ako ga podrži samo mali broj proizvođača, VDA 5050 ostaje uredna ideja koja dobro izgleda u prezentaciji. Ako ga prihvate veći igrači, može postati pravi zajednički sloj za industrijsku automatizaciju i smanjiti broj custom integracija koje sada usporavaju svaku novu flotu.

Zato je noćna smjena u skladištu najbolji test. Tamo se odmah vidi radi li koordinacija između robota, ljudi i strojeva ili se sve raspada čim sustav izađe iz laboratorijskog rasporeda. Tek tada ćemo znati je li VDA 5050 v3 stvarno korak prema interoperabilnosti ili samo novija verzija starog problema.
