Boston Dynamics je s novim Atlasom napravio jasan zaokret: od humanoidne estetike prema industrijskoj funkciji. To znači da robot više ne glumi čovjeka, nego se optimizira za posao. Takav pristup je manje fotogeničan, ali mnogo iskreniji.

Pasivno hlađenje i modularnost sugeriraju da je prioritet pouzdanost, a ne pozerski pokreti. U skladištu i tvornici nije važno nalikuje li stroj čovjeku, nego može li izdržati smjenu, zadržati stabilnost i raditi bez stalnog nadzora.

Atlas tako postaje simbol šire promjene u robotici: industrija sve manje traži humanoide, a sve više funkcionalne alate.

Demo snimke i dalje izgledaju impresivno, ali stvarni deployment mjeri se u trenju, temperaturi i zastoju. Modularnost može pomoći, ali i dodati nova mjesta kvara.

Pravi test je jednostavan: može li Atlas napraviti korisni posao kad nije glavna zvijezda videa?

Drugim riječima, čovjeku sličan robot više nije cilj. Koristan robot jest.
