Palladyne AI i Draganfly postigli su integracijski milestonе za SwarmOS u simuliranom letu. To je korak naprijed, ali i dalje samo korak u kontroliranom okruženju. Rojevi dronova zvuče moćno dok su na ekranu; puno su kompliciraniji kad ih treba pustiti u stvarni zrak.

Obrambena primjena je očita meta, ali upravo tamo ograničenja najbrže iskaču: vjetar, vrijeme, gubitak veze, baterija i regulativa. Ako sustav ne može proći kroz te prepreke, ostaje laboratorijska vježba s vojnom estetikom.

Drugim riječima, swarm je poletio tek kad ga vrijeme i pravila prestanu vraćati na zemlju.

Simulacija pokazuje da koordinacija radi, ali ne pokazuje trajnost. U praksi, to je tek početak pitanja o nosivosti, trošku i sigurnosti.

Za obranu to znači da će pravi test biti na terenu, ne na slide decku. Ako se roj može ponašati pouzdano u stvarnim uvjetima, tek tada postaje operativan alat.

Do tada, ovo je dobar demo i ništa više.
